Girls Night Out was the perfect platform for women in the industry to gather
Nothing like a girl’s night out! The BIA hosted a Girls Night Out (GNO) event on Wednesday, February 5, at the BIA office. This was the first time the BIA has done a GNO, and the turnout was better than expected and attended by nearly 50 members and guests. Along with refreshments, there was plenty of food to snack on and desserts to enjoy thanks to Konkus Marble & Granite and Costco.
“Girls Night Out hosted by the BIA was a spectacular event,” said Felicitee Geise with Konkus Marble & Granite. “Konkus sponsored the appetizers for this event, and we were able to raffle off cheese/cutting boards fabricated from our shop. This was a great opportunity to show one of many things we are capable of doing outside of countertops.”
The ladies were asked to bring items to donate to the Turning Point Shelter located in Delaware county. Turning Point responds to the needs of domestic violence victims by providing shelter, counseling, advocacy and general support services. Some of the items donated included baby clothes, paper products, household cleaner and more. Attendees could also make a $10 donation.
The generous donors together raised $174 in donations and three boxes of donated materials. The faculty at the Turning Point Shelter was thrilled and very excited that the women thought of them and, in turn, will add the BIA to their list of donors.
“We were again appreciative of our women members and their generosity,” said Tracy Schiefferle, BIA Assistant Executive Director. “The donations that we received from those that attended Girls Night Out are being put to good use by the Turning Point Domestic Violence shelter in Delaware, which our Professional Women in Building Council helped to build through product donations. It was a great evening to celebrate the partnerships and professionalism of our female members.”
If you are interested in making a financial donation to Turning Point Shelter, you can do so directly on their Facebook Page.
Thank you to our sponsors and to all the ladies who came out and for everyone’s generosity in supporting Turning Point Women’s Shelter.
