Post #BIAbedhead and Help Domestic Violence Victims

Nov 1 - Dec 15

BIAbedhead 1The BIA is committed to helping the Delaware County Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter, a safe place where local residents can find shelter from domestic violence — and we’re challenging you to join us.

Many BIA members previously donated the building materials that made this shelter a reality. This year, for their annual holiday donation drive, the Professional Women in Building Council, is stepping up with a way to assist Turning Point in its mission to provide shelter, counseling and support: We’re going to raise money for pillows.

New pillows are a much-needed item for Turning Point, because whenever someone stays at the shelter, new pillows are required for them. The PWB wants to help donate pillows and other bedding necessities, so we are challenging BIA members to show us their best BED HEAD.

Donation updates will be posted here throughout the challenge.

Here’s how it works….

Take a picture of your bed head and post it to your Facebook page with the hashtag BIAbedhead, for example: #BIAbedhead. Once you post, be sure to then challenge three others to either donate to the cause OR post a picture of their best bed head within one week (of course we would love it if you do both). The BIA will add the pictures you post to its Facebook album. Make sure your post is set to public.

If you do not have a Facebook page or someone you challenge does not, send your photos to You can then donate online at the BIA website.

This fundraiser is open to all. So please get as many people as you can to take part in #BIAbedhead posts.

And as an added bonus, the BIA member whose #BIAbedhead gets the most likes will get a third-of-a-page feature in Building Insider magazine that will be all about your company.

Turning Point is helping people throughout our community, so they don’t have to live with fear. And it may help someone closer to home than you realize.

The challenge runs from November 1 – December 15. Get your family, friends and pets in on the photos — and show us your #BIAbedhead.
