Statement from NAHB Chairman Granger MacDonald on Steven Mnuchin's Confirmation as Treasury Secretary

WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 - Granger MacDonald, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a home builder and developer from Kerrville, Texas, today issued the following statement regarding the Senate confirmation of Steven Mnuchin as Secretary of the Treasury:

"NAHB congratulates Steven Mnuchin on becoming the nation's 77th Treasury secretary. Secretary Mnuchin understands that reform of Dodd-Frank financial regulation is key to returning the American economy to full strength. He has stated that housing finance reform, including an overhaul of the government sponsored entities, is a high priority. Obviously, he will be a major player as President Trump's administration and the Congress take up tax reform. NAHB looks forward to working with Secretary Mnuchin and his team to promote tax policies, financial regulations and a housing finance system that will strengthen the American economy and keep the residential construction industry moving in the right direction."
