BIA Annual Awards

At the end of each year, the BIA holds its annual Inaugural Celebration and Awards Ceremony recognizing outstanding members from the past year. The incoming President and Board of Trustees are sworn in, and the outgoing President is recognized. In addition, members are honored for encouraging the American dream of homeownership, maintaining professional excellence and supporting the standards and policies of the BIA.

BIA Annual Inaugural Celebration and Awards Ceremony: Celebrating 2009

The 67th Annual Inaugural Celebration and Awards Ceremony was held at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club in Powell on December 4, 2009.

The 2010 BIA Board of Trustees was installed, along with 2010 BIA President Zenios Michael Zenios of 3 Pillar Homes. The BIA’s outgoing President, Gary Libertini of American Heritage Homes, was also honored in addition to select award winners:

The Baldy, Esper, Jones Award is given annually to the top builder and the top associate membership recruiter. The award is named after Frank Baldy, Jack Esper and Don Jones, who recruited over 900 members to the BIA.

Recognition was given to those companies that have been a member of the BIA for at least 25 consecutive years. The three new companies that joined these ranks in 2009 include:

Recruiting new members into the BIA is an activity recognized and rewarded through the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Spike Club Program.The following Spikes received recognition at the Inaugural:

Irving E. Schottenstein Builder of the Year Award

This award was renamed in honor of the late Irving E. Schottenstein, co-founder of M/I Homes, and is given to a builder member for encouraging the American dream of homeownership, maintaining professional excellence, and supporting the standards and policies of the BIA.
